You know that feeling when you’re trying to strike a pose in front of the mirror, but no matter how you adjust, something just doesn’t look quite right? It’s as if there’s always one small detail off, and you can’t quite fix it. Yeah, me too. 😄 Modeling might seem like it’s all about the outer appearance, but let me tell you—it’s an inside job. Confidence is the real magic behind the camera, and I’m here to share some lessons I’ve learned about mastering it.
Posing with Purpose: The Power of Confidence
When I first started modeling, I thought it was all about the smiles and holding a pose. But I quickly learned that the camera captures more than a pose--it captures the true expression of the model, it doesn’t lie—and it loves confidence. Confidence is what transforms a pose from forced and fake to fluid and fresh, and believe me, I’ve had my fair share of both. The key? Relaxing into who you are. There is no one like you. You don't have to push yourself to fit into some kind of unrealistic box and the real you couldn't be more beautiful and perfect.
One of the most surprising things I’ve discovered through modeling is that true confidence comes from being comfortable with discomfort. Whether it’s wearing 6-inch heels on a cobblestone street (yes, that’s happened) or trying to keep a relaxed face while doing complex yoga poses for the camera (let's just say it wasn’t pretty), confidence is all about embracing the awkward and laughing through it.
The Awkward Angle Rule: No One Escapes It
The “awkward angle” rule is simple: it happens to everyone! Confidence is about shaking it off and trying again. Simply strike a new pose and keep going while remembering to relax all the while. 😎
Lessons from the Runway (or… Life in General)
The runway (and life) can throw some pretty unexpected curveballs your way. I’ve learned that confidence doesn’t mean always having everything under control; it means staying grounded when things get shaky. Whether it’s a wardrobe malfunction or missing a cue, modeling taught me that sometimes you just have to walk it off—literally. The secret is not in avoiding mistakes but in how you recover from them.
This lesson applies to everyday life, too. Whether you’re walking into an important meeting or starting a new project, confidence is about showing up, being present, and knowing you’ve got this—even if the zipper on your dress decides not to cooperate.
The Confidence Behind the Lens
When I coach women, I love helping them find that inner confidence that goes beyond appearance. Confidence isn’t about having the “perfect” body or the trendiest wardrobe—it’s about feeling good in your own skin. In modeling, and in life, confidence shines through when we stop trying to be perfect and just embrace who we are.
That’s why I’ve incorporated this into my coaching practice. We work together to tap into that deep sense of self-worth that can’t be captured by any camera but shines through in everything you do.

Why Confidence is Key
Confidence is the secret sauce to making everything in life just a little easier (or at least a little more fun). When you trust yourself, you’re unstoppable. Modeling may have taught me how to walk the runway, but confidence taught me how to walk through life with my head held high—heels optional.
